Greber Fire Hall achieves LEED® Certification

Fire Station No. 5 located on Greber Street in Gatineau has achieved LEED® -NC v1.0 certification.

This is a first in the Outaouais Region!

Bouthillette Parizeau, responsible for mechanical and electrical design, is proud to have contributed to this success.

The new building, which also houses an administrative center, has the following features :

  • 44% energy consumption cost reduction based on ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) Standard 90.1
  • geothermal technology
  • solar wall which increases the temperature of the fresh air in the building (in the winter)
  • heat recovery of exhaust air
  • low-flow plumbing fixtures which minimizes domestic water consumption

LEED®  (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is an evaluation system originally created by the U.S. Green Building Council and licensed in Canada by the Canada Green Building Council.

At this point in time, four projects completed by Bouthillette Parizeau have been awarded LEED®  certification, the Greber Fire Hall being the latest, with 25 other projects registered for LEED®  certification.
