Recommissioning : Bouthillette Parizeau reinforces its position

Bouthillette Parizeau proudly participates in the Recommissioning Committee of the Quebec Energy Management Association.  The objective of the committee is to assess the feasability of the recommissioning process in buildings by means of pilot projects. Needs are assessed, actions and recommissioning program limitations are studied.

The Bouthillette Parizeau team assisted in the following tasks:

  • target energy and financial impacts;
  • calculate the ROI (return on investment) of the invested capital;
  • establish factors that affect profitability (ex. building type, age);
  • estimate workforce requirements, both internally and externally, in order to successfully implement the project;
  • target appropriate markets.

Following the compilation of the results from the project, the committee will make the results available to building managers in Quebec. By providing this information, these administrators will have in hand current and accurate data regarding the benefits and responsibilities of a recommissioning project.

Recommissioning is the optimization of mechanical and electrical systems. It includes a set of analyses, audits and corrective interventions performed in order to ensure efficient operation of the energy systems in a building. The aim of recommissioning is to reduce energy consumption by optimizing operation and performance of the ventilation, air conditioning and heating systems.
